We support KPF (Kids Participate Free), KPF allows kids, 15 and under, to run free with a parent or guardian entry at regular price. There is a limit of 2 kids per parent or guardian. Kids will not receive a t-shirt.

The Race for Freedom will once again use the Champion Chip for the event. Chips must be picked up the morning of the event at the designated location. All chips must be returned at the end of the event.
The Race for Freedom 5km and 10km are USAT&F sanctioned and certified. Runners are eligible for state and national records and rankings. The walk is not a sanctioned event.
All participants must wear a number. Participants must comply with Oklahoma City Ordinances. All participants must pay an entry fee and sign/agree to the waiver.
There will be an awards ceremony immediately following the race. Awards will only be given for the 5km and 10km competitive runs. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place overall winners for both men and women in the 5km and 10km competitive events. In addition, medals for the 5km and 10km competitive events will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for men and women based upon the following age divisions:

Split times will be called out at the 2, 4, 6, and 8 kilometer points. Markings will also appear on the pavement.
Water stations will be available throughout the course and at the start/finish area. Remember, heat kills and water saves! Drink plenty of water before, during and after the race.
If you have a medical emergency during the event we will have medical personnel available to assist you. Oklahoma Sports Science & Orthopedics will be providing a medical station at the event.
Parking is available near the start/finish line in the parking lot at Lake Hefner East Wharf.
